Tracy Lyons Signs Agreement with South Bay Music Group |
|
Tracy Lyons has just signed an agreement with South Bay Music Group who will represent the singer-songwriter’s music for placement into film, television shows, movie trailers, commercials and video games. South Bay Music Group founder Seth Berg states, “We are very excited to have Tracy on board and we look forward to seeking out music placement opportunities.”
Since 2001, Tracy has written and released two critically acclaimed albums – 2002’s debut album ‘Surrender’ followed by 2006’s ‘I Will’ which contained “Save Me,” a powerful environmental music video on YouTube that has captured over 600,000 plays to date.
Tracy Lyons' latest song "These Days" is the first single from her upcoming third album release entitled 'Mercury Rising.' Against the backdrop of economic and environmental threats, "These Days" is about being out of control, scared and feeling alone. The song was produced by Juno winner Greg Kavanagh and mixed by Grammy winner Ed Cherney. Tracy just came off the road with Everclear, promoting "These Days" and continuing her outreach about the deteriorating global environment, its insidious damage to health, and urgent need for action.
South Bay Music Group works to acquire music synchronization rights for film, television shows, movie trailers, commercials, recordings and video games. South Bay Music also represents a wide array of contemporary acts in the film and television licensing world. Founder Seth Berg is a 15 year music industry veteran, with 8 years as the head of Film & TV Music at EMI-Capitol Records in Los Angeles. He started South Bay Music Group in 2003 to provide artists, writers, publishers and record companies of all sizes targeted marketing focus for synchronization opportunities. |

Well another year has past by so quickly and it has started with a 7.0 earthquake in Japan. Thank God there was not another tsunami and there was no significant damage or injuries, but what does this mean about how vulnerable we are.
With the ocean covering more than 70% of the earth's surface, the ocean represents our planet's largest habitat and source of oxygen. As our oceans become damaged so do we and as the fish ingest the chemicals so do we when we eat them. As time goes on the balance in our ecosystem becomes upset and we become much sicker as people.
From a health perspective if we simply cut down eating the fish that are mercury laden we would not only be healthier but our risk of having Alzheimers and Parkinsons would decrease. It is medically known that too much mercury in our system causes many health risks for any individual. There are currently more and more people having to deal with Alzheimers and dementia and it is not simply because we are living longer.
We are hurting ourselves and our oceans and by being aware of what we can do can not only benefit our quality of life, but help by keeping our oceans from developing acidification; which in turn damages not only the water, but us as well.
Wishing you all the best for a safe, healthy and happy year.

Our hearts go out to the people on the east coast and beyond. From hurricanes
creating vast flooding to earthquakes occurring in places that have never felt
them before; and from wild fires blazing to extended droughts; we send our
support to the people affected by these natural disasters. By itself, hurricane
Irene has caused so much damage, to think another may follow is unimaginable.
How does anyone recover from such tragedy? Although overwhelming, we must look
to the future with hope and promise that technology and government involvement
will help to create the circumstances necessary to reverse the ongoing
destruction of our environment. Are these disasters caused by global warming,
or is this just mere coincidence that our waters are warming and the polar ice
caps are melting? Regardless of the conditions, everyone is subject to the
powerful effects of nature. Ultimately, we will only be able to protect
ourselves when we truly protect our environment through the respect it so
deserves.
With Concern,
